About Jet
He is extremely affectionate. He can never get enough love and attention! He loves to cuddle and be as close as possible at all times. He’s like your shadow, always by your side.
I guess what makes him unique is his gentle giant demeanor, he also has a great deal of empathy for human emotions and loves being your sidekick and following you around (even though he is huge and gets in the way lol).
He's a very easy dog to have if you have experience with dogs and patience during the first few months.
He's good with birds, being off leash, cuddling, following a routine, learning tricks and pleasing the people. Jet is great on leash, he loves going for runs and camping. In a park, beach or suburb area he's an absolute gem! The best adventure buddy possible! He is keen to please the and learns rapidly, he knows quite a few commands such as sit and law down, and learned very quickly.
He shares a home with chickens and ducks, so he’s great around birds! He’s good with other dogs at the park and in public, but doesn’t have many close dog friends (as of yet!). He has very little experience (from what we know) of being around children, (though the few times in passing by have never been an issue), so we are seeking a home without kids, the noise and unpredictability would likely be too much for him anyway.
Jet came in with his big puppy dog eyes and loving personality and has warmed the hearts of everyone in our family. We want more than anything for him to find a home where he is cherished for the beautiful soul he is. He has so much love to give. He would be a wonderful addition for anyone with a lot of space in their hearts and home for this boy to fill.
Medical notes
Jet desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations and parasite control.
He has been an abused dog and does bare some emotional scars. For example yelling upsets him and he needs time to decide if men are friends. He never uses aggression and prefers to run and hide when afraid. He is gaining a healthy optimism though, and meets most new experiences with optimism. So we are seeking a family that understands that Jet is still recovering, and he has made great improvements, however he needs gentle handling and help with his fears. He is currently on anti-anxiety medication which helps keep his fears under control. We believe that once settled in to his new home he can taper off these, inexpensive meds, if needed. He is a lovely big boof and he loves his favourite people with an intensity that is common in dogs who have lived through trauma and instability.
