About Simson
Ha-row!! I'm friendly, super energetic, a little shy! I reckon I'd suit lots of different types of homes, but an active boy couldn't get a better companion than me :)
My name is Simson. I am very aptly named. Son of Simon derived from the Hebrew word "shimeon" which means "obedience" & I do absolutely just want to please my favourite humans. I'm super confident with kids. I go up to them easily, wagging my tail. And I'm good with most dogs I've met. It must be my working dog roots but I'm very clever & super food orientated so it's only taken me a few days to learn how to sit, shake paws, lie down & sit for my dinner. I'm wary, not frightened, of the unknown so my carers are gently getting me used to lots of situations.
I have a canine foster brother & we play beautifully together - he's a bit older than me & doesn't have my stamina. Sometimes I tug on his ear to come & play but he just wants to rest. Some find my eternal enthusiasm & zest for activity a little tiring.
I ADORE the great outdoors - my foster family takes me to the beach all the time & I especially love rolling in the mud - you never know when a mostly white dog will need the incognito cover of a layer of mud!!
I'm currently hyper-alert to noise & activity going on around me. This will settle down once I'm desexed and when I realise I'm secure in a permanent home and know all the noises there. Foster Mum thinks I'd be suited to a home with lots going on to keep my active mind stimulated & another dog for company or kids who can be with me most of the time. I don't like to be alone much. I'll need time spent with me on training, regular exercise & toys to keep me occupied so I can grow to be a balanced good dog.
Sometimes I "talk" to my human foster family through the lounge room window. They think I'm wondering why I've been put out to play & am keen to get back inside. I love to snuggle up with my favourite humans. In fact, I am constantly either sitting on my human foster Mummy's foot, or in her lap or leaning against her legs. She told my photographer that I'm happy to lie on the couch near her as long as even just a tiny part of me is touching her.
On the "Simson Family Crest" it is written in Latin "nil desperandum" which means "do not despair, never despair". Sometimes I do seem to have the world on my soft furry shoulders but I feel positive that now the Rangers have saved me I won't have anything to worry about. My future is SAFE.
