About Scout
Hi everyone!
My name is Scout, and I was rescued from death row. Nobody knows why I was abandoned. I am dog friendly, cat friendly, don't need high fencing, was easily house trained and taught commands quickly... I am the ultimate doggo. Their loss!
Since coming into care, I have lived with all types of dogs from adult males and females, to puppies and I get along with all ages, breeds and genders. The cats scare the heck out of me but once they stop fluffing up at me, I learn to relax around them- until then, they're a bit scary!
I currently live behind a 1.2m fence and show no interest of jumping it. My inside skills are impeccable, and my favourite space is the end of the couch. I am submissive with other dogs, and very playful. I love rope toys! Kongs are also a favourite of mine. I would love dog parks and walks! Sunbaking and water are also loves of mine. My estimated DOB is 1/1/19- as when I came into care I was estimated at 7 months old. So my rescue made me a date of birth that reflects that.
While I can sleep inside or outside, I would prefer to live in a home that will bring me inside at night. I like structure and to know where to sleep and what is happening. I'm not an anxious dog, just a watchful one who likes to know what is happening and what you want from me. I sometimes bark at possums in trees etc so that is why it's a good idea for me to come inside at night. But during the day, unless there is someone at the house, I am quiet as a mouse. My carer kept running outside to see if I was still there, I was so quiet!
I love sunbaking, do great in the car, and also sometimes watch the TV!! I am a very affectionate boy, who just wants you to love me and teach me things. I love to learn, and am food orientated. I make everyone around me happy with my easy going, loving and happy personality.
If I sound like the one for you, please message my rescue ASAP. I can't wait to find my forever family!
Medical notes
Healthy, happy! Desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, worm tick and flea, and heartworm treated.

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
