About Oliver
Ollie was a surrender to us with a birth deformity. Ollie had radial hypoplasia in his right leg causing all his weight to be placed on to his ulna. As the radius usually anchors the ulna in place, this meant his leg was presenting at a very uncomfortable angle. Combining this painful angle with attempting to use his leg normally, Oliver had an infected and painful pressure sore which sadly meant he urgently needed to have the leg removed to save his life.
Ollie may have three legs but that hasn’t slowed him down one tiny bit.
He LOVES cuddles with humans and dogs. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and that means he needs a happy doggie playmate in his forever home. Basically, he just loves everything and everyone.
He is a smart cookie who learns new things very quickly. Ollie is toilet trained, he sits before coming inside, sits before eating and has no food aggression.
He may be a cross poodle but he still does shed some fur. Due to his long hair he will need to be groomed/brushed regularly otherwise his fur will matt.
This gorgeous man is the definition of perfect. He just needs the perfect family who is willing to do anything to keep him happy and comfortable for the rest of his life. Here at Safe Haven we love him to bits, he is very special to us all.
To ensure our darling continues to thrive and be a happy little camper for his whole life, Oliver has some criteria for his perfect forever home.
- He must go with a desexed doggie friend
- His forever home needs to be a lowset house with minimal or no stairs
- His humans will need to be willing to learn about mental enrichment activities as his physical strength and stamina is different from a four legged dog
- His family must be able to take him for grooming as required due to thick coat and breed mix
- He must be allowed to be an inside and outside dog
- His family need to be able to provide supplements as needed (eg, 4cyte canine supplements)
- His humans must understand the need for soft bedding on floor/low level so that he can rest comfortably as needed
If you believe you can give Ollie the best home possible then please apply.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. To meet, adopt or find out more details on this animal, please fill in our adoption application at our website- http://www.safehavenanimalrescueinc.com Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
2. Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend bringing your current dog/cat as this may stress the feline out.
3. The animal cannot be taken on the day unless prior arranged (over 2 hr round trip), and the adoption agreement and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. Once collected, the 10 day settling period begins, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care into a suitable foster home. The adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after this trial period there will be no refund made.
