About 🐾Tormund🐾
Gorgeous young Tormund is here to provide one very lucky home with the perfect “fully puppy experience”! 😉
This cheeky little guy came into care with zero training/boundaries and to his credit, he’s made a very good start on a number of things, but will need ongoing guidance, patience and training to help him to grow up to be the best little doggo he can be!
Tormund's parents are unknown, but we believe he is likely a Labrador x English Staffy or similar and will grow to be a medium size boy.
Tormund’s ideal home would be a mature, active home with puppy experience and an existing friendly but confident dog who is happy to endure Tormund’s puppy antics and teach him lots of doggo stuff!
Tormund was extremely underweight when he arrived in care and had clearly had to get in quick for the food he did have access to. As a result, he is still learning that food keeps coming and you don’t have to inhale your meal in 3.7 seconds, nor is anyone going to steal it from you. To this end, he is currently being fed with a slow feeder/anti gulp bowl, which he may grow out of needing, but even if not, they are more than suitable as a permanent bowl choice. One of the many things Tormund has been working on in care, is taking food/treats calmly and politely from hands. We’re not gonna lie, puppy teeth are sharp so continuing with this training is a must! Due to his current slightly obsessive relationship with food, he will need to be fed separately from existing dogs, so he doesn’t feel rushed.
Tormund has started crate training in his foster home and is happily sleeping through the night. He is still having some accidents inside when he’s not in his crate, but he’s a smart kid and starting to get the hang of house training. Again, this is something that will need to continue to be reinforced in his new home.
Now if we haven’t mentioned it yet, Tormund is a puppy. A puppy with sharp little puppy teefies and a love of playing the most traditional of puppy games, like - “What are that? I’ll chew it and find out!” and “Maybe chewing it will help?!” and of course the classic “Anything is food if you chew it hard enough!” He’s a puppy. Puppies chew things, it’s the law. 🤣
Tormund has started on basic “How to be a Very Good Boy” training in his foster home. He has (mostly) mastered “sit” and is now working it for all the treats it’s worth!
Tormund is looking for a committed, mature, active home where someone is around most of the day (or pet sitting/daycare is an option, at least until he is 100% house trained) , ideally with an existing friendly, confident doggo friend.
Tormund is not suited to homes with cats or other small animals, as he’s just too over-excitable.
Tormund is in care in Kilmore.
