Pumba ~ Shih Tzu X (on trial 18/8/19)

Anyone who is thinking of adopting a perfect little companion, you can't go past Pumba. Pumba is a 12 year old male ShihTzu cross Maltese ( perhaps). Don’t judge him by his age as he is full of beans and ready to be involved in any activity you may have planned. He is a funny little guy with his quirky little face.

Pumba is extremely loving, friendly and always ready for a cuddle. However, he also has a penchant for finding trouble. And usually engages one of his foster brothers to rabble rouse with him. This could include leaping around the furniture, playing tug of war with a sock or knocking at the glass door if he feels he is on the wrong side of it.

Pumba is extremely food motivated which is fine when he is on his own but can cause issues with other dogs. He gulps his food and checks out the other dogs bowls whilst they are still eating. He will also sniff out any food that you may have hidden in your pocket or is in the bin. Trying to sit with a cup of coffee and a biscuit is impossible.
Pumba on the whole is fine with dogs of a similar size and temperament. However, one of his foster siblings is quite old and frail and he has taken a dislike to her. He also dislikes the bigger dog next door and proceeds to tell the neighbourhood about it.
Pumba loves his walks but can be quite strong on the lead. He does get a little worried in the car but manages on the whole. He gets on well with older children and will seek out the comfort of a human bed rather than his own. He is mostly toilet trained and will go outside but can get a bit lazy if not reminded .
Pumba is an assertive, cheeky boy who has a fantastic outgoing personality, but can also loves special cuddles at night. I think he would be great for an active person who is mainly home or someone with older kids. I don’t think he would like to be on his own. I think he would be fine with the right other dog but this would need to be tested at a meet and greet.

Pumba's adoption fee is $250 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
