About Lovisa
Hi everyone!
If you're looking for a dog who gets on great with other dogs, big or small - who won't try to run away, and is used to full time workers - I'm your girl. I am a loving, loyal and happy natured girl ready for her new life.
My name is Lovisa, meaning 'warrior'- named as such because I am one tough girl! I was handed into a remote council pound, very very underweight. I had had no vet work done, and had ticks on me too (not paralysis thankfully!). I ran out of time in the pound, and needed urgent rescue. Thankfully, OTC could fit me in, and they came for me and 6 other dogs too! Since then, I've never looked back.
I have settled quickly into foster care, and live with 2 small dog friends. I am well trained in house manners. While I had never been inside until I reached OTC, I have quickly learned the rules of where I can and can not toilet, and what is and is not a toy. I am beginning lead training, and any owner with basic dog handling skills will be able to continue my progress easily. I sleep inside at night, and hang in the yard during the day. My exact breed mix is unknown, however I came from someone who breeds bulldog x and I certainly seem to have some bulldog in me, as well as probably bull arab. I was 15kg at 6mo old, so am not expected to get past 25kg as an adult. I gained weight quickly and have no long term health issues from my neglect. I am now healthy and fit!
I love car rides, couch snuggles, playing with my toys, and anything to do with food. I haven't yet been tested with cats. I would fit in easily to most families. If you think I sound like the right fit for you, please message my rescue now!

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
