About Portia
Hello! My name is Portia and I’m an extremely loving girl and have been told I have the best temperament, everyone loves me!
Where do I start? Well…. I don’t let my foster mummy out of my sight, whenever she comes home I make sure I greet her with lots of hugs and attention to show her how much I missed her during the day, this could be you next, I can be a real stalker 😉
Although I have a little foster friend Pickles the pug with me I feel like I would like a brother or sister my own size because I have played a little rumble and tumble with a dog my size and I loved it! I just don’t think a smaller dog is into playing with someone my size (I’m a healthy 21kgs). I would fit in well with a family who have children around the age of 10 and upwards because I love being around humans, so more the better! Sometimes I do jump up with excitement so I don’t want to scare any little ones, I’m a big goof ball sometimes. My foster mum describes me as a queen, I enjoy taking pole position at the front of the house by the window so I can see all the action go by but I’m not a barker in case you were wondering.
I’m scared of being by myself In the dark so I sleep with my foster mum and pickles in their room, I sometimes like to sleep at the end of the bed but I enjoy my own space so I mostly sleep in my own bed, although I love coming up on the bed in the morning for cuddles. Another bonus for sleeping in my new humans bedroom is that I don’t snore! I love the off lead dog park and I am extremely friendly to all dogs and I listen to my human when called. Around the house I like to lounge around on the couch and sleep for most of the day so that I can save up all my energy for when my foster mum gets home! Sometimes if she leaves things on the kitchen bench, I get a bit sneaky and I like to steal things that look tasty, so far I’ve managed to snatch a whole toasted sandwich, some butter and some doggy treats! 😂🐱👤
That’s enough about me though, if you think you could provide me with this kind of love and more and can put up with my cheekiness I’d be so happy to hear from you!
Love,
Portia.
Although we believe Portia has previously lived with cats, we have not had the opportunity to cat test her, therefore at this stage she is looking for a cat free home, with a similar size, friendly, playful dog.
Portia is in care in Heatherton.
***PLEASE DO NOT CLICK THE "CONVERSATIONS" BUTTON ON OUR LISTINGS. TO MAKE FURTHER ENQUIRIES, PLEASE COMPLETE AN ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE ON OUR WEBSITE. THANK YOU!***
Medical notes
Portia came into care with terrible skin and ear infections. She has been treated for these and has recovered very well, but as a Shar Pei, skin and ear issues can be recurring, so her new family will need to be well educated on the health and care of the breed.
Portia had bilateral entropion and has had all 4 eyelids surgically repaired.
She goes to her new home desexed, microchipped, flea and worm treated and current in vaccinations.
