About Bennie
📣📰👩⚕️ ATTN: NSW/ACT - Bennie is ready to find his furever home!! 👩⚕️📰📣
Bennie's story:
Our NSW/ACT team received an urgent phone call from a family needing to surrender a pug that they had purchased a few days earlier...
The family were wanting to provide their current Pug with a companion and to expand their furry family. When they came across an ad on Gumtree for a one year old male Pug, they thought it would be the perfect opportunity👌
Well when they arrived to meet their new addition, they were shocked not only to see that the Pug advertised in the ad was not the actual Pug for sale, but the condition in which the Pug was in was beyond belief!!😱
This poor baby had a dreadful skin condition to the point that he appeared as though he had been in a vicious dog fight. However upon his initial veterinary examination - more than half of his body was covered in untreated hot spots and his white blood cell count was sky high due to infection 😟💔
BUT...
After being in our care for two months, Bennie has been given the all clear and he is now ready to find his forever family and begin a new chapter in his life!!!
Information about Bennie: (please read carefully)
▪️ AGE: 14 months
▪️ BREED: Pug Cross
▪️ LOCATION: Sydney
▪️ KIDS: Not suited to young children
▪️ CATS: Untested
▪️ ONGOING TREATMENT: Bennie’s wounds have healed well so far, however there are areas where his fur has not grown back and are looking typical of healed burns. Only time will tell if his fur will grow back. To continue to help repair the skin and to prevent it from becoming dry and itchy, Bennie requires regular medicated baths along with coconut oil massaged into the scars.
▪️ IDEAL HOME: Bennie loves nothing more than bouncing about and following his humans and foster companions around. He is the cuddliest Pug of all Pugs that his foster parents have known and he loves to squeeze and nestle himself into his human’s arms for naps, belly tickles and face rubs☺️
Bennie is slightly nervous with sudden movements and with being picked up so he would suit a calmer home with older children only. His foster parents are confident his nervousness will soon disappear with providing him with continued love and affection💞
Bennie will need an active family that is home often along with the companionship of another desexed furry friend (or two!) that are about his size. He will need to be indoor Pug with access to the backyard for when he needs to go out from time to time. Bennie is nearly house trained, knows his basic commands and walks well on a harness.
Bennie has come such a long way from when he first came into our care and he now has plenty of energy. He loves to play fetch, tug of war and loves his walks. Bennie is such a champ that he recently came in 3rd at a recent Pug Run!🏅
