About Didi
Didi - female arab x
DOB est: 15/04/2019
Hi everyone!
My name is Didi and I am the sweetest most gentle girl you could ever hope for. I came into OTC after my owners abandoned me at the council pound. When my time was up, I was kill listed but OTC came to save me and 5 other dogs that day! My breed is not known for sure, however my vets think Arab x Dane. However I was starved badly as a puppy, and while I am now perfectly healthy, it does mean I won't grow as big as others of my breed mix. I would reach approx 35kg as an adult.
Since coming into care, I have shown what a loving and smart girl I am. I get along great with the other dog here, and am very social and clever. I like my baby human friends, and am gentle with children. My house training is going well, and I sleep through the night.
My favourite game at the moment is tug-of-war and my ideal home has another dog for company, or will at least provide me with opportunity to play with others a few times a week, eg dog parks, play dates. I currently live behind a 1.2m fence and have shown no desire to escape. I would love to be welcomed into the home at night and made a part of the family. Sometimes when I am being really good, I'm allowed to sneak up onto the couch for snuggles and that is my favourite thing ever!
I have great manners with food, and am a very loyal dog. I will suit most families. I haven't yet met cats, but if you are an experienced owner you should be able to train me to be gentle with them easily. I have a loving nature and no desire to harm anyone!
I travel well in the car, and while the vet makes me nervous, I sit there and behave nicely. I had never been to a vet before OTC so it is just going to take a bit of time for me to get used to it.
I am ready for my new life, and I hope you will consider me! I bring so much joy to anyone around me and think you will come to love me just as much as my temporary carers do!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
