Hi everyone!
My name is Matilda and I am the cutest, sweetest girl you could hope for. Even though I'm still just a teenager, I am a fast learning and eager-to-please girl. I respond well to commands and am food orientated, meaning training is a breeze.. I am a staffy mix... with what, we can't be sure. Whatever it is, it's 1/4 social butterfly, 1/4 puppy eyes, 1/4 playful and 1/4 clever. I am almost fully grown at 17kg and am only just above knee height.
I currently live with two other dogs, whose company I love! I am dog friendly but prefer to be the boss. I am great with adult humans and children, but don't like cats. I sleep inside at night and my house training/toilet training has been easy. Before coming into OTC, I was on death row in the pound. The people who got rid of me had never let me indoors, and I didn't have toys or any vet work done etc. I also had cigarette burns on my head... So considering where I am from, the fact I am such a loving and well mannered girl is a true testament to my nature. I travelled a long way to reach OTC and am so excited to meet my forever family.
I travel fine, and don't tend to get car sick. I am well behaved at the vet, and love my walks. I currently live with 6ft fencing and would need 5ft+ to be kept safe, or an electronic system if the fence is shorter. My ideal home will let me inside at night time, and will have me as an only dog or have me with a balanced, submissive dog friend. My perfect family will take me on walks 4+ times a week to let me burn off some energy and get all the sniffs!
I am so excited to find my perfect happy ending. If you think that's you, please contact the rescue and apply to adopt me right away. A good girl like me won't last long!
Medical notes
Fully vetted and healthy.
Adoption details

- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
