About Nola
NOLA has come from a puppy mill.
She has had many litters, and she is only 4 (Feb).
She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She is still wary of people, but in her foster home, she is with 4 other older dogs, that have been teaching her lots of manners and letting her know, that she can trust people.
She absolutely loves stuffed toys and chew toys.
And she is a little bower bird or hoarder.
Like any Frenchie, she snorts like a little pig a lot.
Her light sleeping can be a little loud.
When she is in a deep sleep, we notice the snoring subsided.
Our observations of NOLA, is we feel she needs a home with at least one other dog, that can still teach her.
She cannot go with children, as she plays very rough, and gets a little nippy with them.
We have been taking NOLA out to public parks, and walking her in local streets, to get her used to different noises and environments.
This little powerhouse is doing fantastic.
Her social skills and manners with any dog are amazing.
NOLA is a very smart girl, who picked up toilet training so quickly, but we find if she is stressed or lots of change, she does have accidents.
We need to find a special person/s that knows it will take time for NOLA to be the best version of herself.
We won’t consider homes with children, or be on her own for long periods of time.
We know NOLA will go backwards in her growth, as we found that out, when we adopted her out over 6 weeks ago.
Poor NOLA was brought back after a weekend.
Her adopters said she was very depressed and sulked.
NOLA will do that, wherever she goes...
She has bonded extremely hard to her Great Dane foster sister, and we did have discussions whether she stayed here.
But HQ is where she is, and it’s very busy and lots of changes, with new dogs and people coming and going.
So we have made the sad decision to find her a loving understanding home.
Another big dog would be great as NOLA thinks she’s a huge dog.
And if you haven’t owned a Frenchie, read up about them, before applying.
We will not respond to her being a only dog, children in the home, and being a permanent outside dog.
Medical notes
NOLA has been desexed by us.
Our vets have informed us that she has had many litters.
And she has had many c-sections.
One of her ears have had cosmetic surgery due to a old untreated wound.
She has had all her medical issues treated.
Nola is in excellent health now.
Yay!!!
Adoption details
We shortlist families who will fit the dogs needs and contact them to arrange an introduction. If everything works well, after a timeout to be sure, an adoption agreement is completed. As the adoption donation is transferred the dog will pass into your hands.
Our Adoption Donation Fees vary. Elderly animals or animals with health problems can differ from those for young or purebred dogs.
All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and treated for fleas. They are bathed and groomed, and have had a consultation with our vet who discusses appropriate treatment which we arrange while the dog is in our care. All dogs are desexed at our expense.
We understand that in the first week, issues occasionally occur where training or behaviour modification is impractical and if no other recourse is available and the dog needs to be rehomed, we will agree to refund part of the adoption fee less $100 administration fee. Due to our system processes this will not be instantaneous but will go into your bank account within the next 10 working days.
After the sixth day, we require first refusal if the dog is to be found a different home, but you will not be eligible for a refund.
