Lady Red is a beautiful purebred Australian Cattle Dog (red heeler) and is waiting for the right home to be the most loyal dog you could ask for.

As true to her nature, Lady Red is an active dog that has herding instincts and requires considerable mental stimulation to prevent her from becoming bored or destructive.

She is currently housed with a larger, older female and as such we've learnt she would prefer to either be an only dog, or with smaller submissive dogs. She may be able to live with an older dog, however would require a bit of effort and positive reinforcement training to ensure she doesn't try and assert too much dominance.

She is resource dominant, and guards her food and toys against other dogs but is good with humans.

She loves cats and wants to play with them/snuggle with them, however is very interested in pocket pets/chickens and as such these animals must be in secure enclosures.

Lady Red is highly intelligent, and has learnt basic training (sit, stay, shake) along with some hand signals. Provided she has enough exercise, Lady Red is a beautiful natured young dog that wants to be your shadow. She will follow you from room to room, and thoroughly enjoys cuddles & belly scratches.

Lady Red will need a home that can ensure her ongoing training and socialisation in new environments, as she can be quite timid and unsure of unfamiliar situations. Ideally she will go to a home that has someone around most of the time, and confident handlers that are familiar with the characteristics of cattle dog breeds.

She will be the most loyal companion dog, and has been an absolute treasure to have in our home.
