About Benny
Hey everyone, my name is Benny and I am searching for my second chance. I arrived into BVAR care with 3 other cats. We had all been surrendered at a regional pound together and kill listed. Apparently the house we were from had 20 cats in total all in cages!
I arrived with an extremely bad flea burden. I had had fleas for so long that my body was covered in scabs and sores from trying to scratch them away. My foster mum quickly treated my fleas and I started to feel better straight away. I also had a belly full of worms and was quite under weight,. I also had an ulcer on my lip from biting at all the fleas. The vet has said that there is a high chance that this ulcer will always pop up when I get too stressed, but it is easily managed. Then to top it all off I came down with cat flu. I haven't had the best run but it's all up from here.
I was very scared when I first arrived in care. I didn't trust people and would spend my days hiding and running away from any one that tried to come near me. It has taken me a long time to come out of my shell. I do not like to be picked up, however once I am comfortable with you, I am very affectionate. I love scratches, pats and will snuggle on my own terms. I just long for a family to call my own where I can be King of the Palace and be spoiled rotten. I will follow you through the house, sleep next to you on the bed and rub against you while you do the dishes. I get along really well with cats. I enjoy playing with them, as long as they are friendly.
I am best suited to a home with another friendly cat around for company, as it really helps me to come out of my shell. I am also best suited to a quiet home - with no children or older children that will leave me alone. I would also like a home that isn't busy or loud - if you have a lot of people coming and going - I am definitely not the cat for you.
I haven't had the nicest start to life. I didn't receive the right veterinary care, nor human interaction. Luckily I am a sweet boy and I know not all people are bad. I deserve the most perfect home and nothing less.
Medical notes
** I have a reoccurring ulcer that appears when I get stressed. A simple vet visit, some needles & antibiotics helps this to clear up but can turn out to be cost effective. As long as I am kept happy and calm, the ulcer stays away but will require monitoring to make sure it doesn't get infected!!
Adoption details
To enquire about an animal available for adoption, please contact us via Facebook or send an email to bellevieanimalrescue@gmail.com. We will respond within 48 hours and send a questionnaire for you to complete.
Applications are not approved on a first in, best dressed basis, rather we will assess on your suitability. Should we believe that the animal you have applied for may not suit your home or lifestyle, we will work with you until we find your perfect match.
Upon approval of your application, we will organise a mutually convenient time and location to do the meet and greet. If the meet is successful, there will be an adoption contract to complete and sign and the full adoption amount is required unless previously organised with Belle Vie Animal Rescue. Your adoption pack will include a copy of the contract for you, all vet work and a microchip change of ownership form, which will be filled out and submitted by BVAR at the end of the adoption trial.
