About Kestrel
Kitty of the week - adopt for FREE or by donation :)
Meet Kestrel. This sweet girl is around 7-8 months old and is waiting patiently for her life to really begin.
A couple of weeks ago, we shared with you the story of a little black cat called Libby; a cat who was very particular in her personality and needed someone to truly rescue her, to save her and give her the life SHE wanted, to love her without expectations.
We had a tremendous response to Libby's post and she ultimately found her perfect home. There's a gorgeous up-date from her new family to come very soon, so keep your eye on the page for that!
-
Like Libby, Kestrel isn't cuddly. She isn't a lap cat and she won't approach you willingly, not for a long time anyway.
But Kestrel is a bright spark! She has a look in her eyes of inquisition and enquiry like she can't wait to explore everything joyful that life has to offer.
-
Kestrel LOVES to play. She is, of course, still just a kitten and it shows with her delight at the simplest things. Get a toy on a string and she will engage with you for hours.
After 100 long days in foster care waiting for her forever family, Kestrel has made lots of progress with her foster mum. She has a big purr and is finally comfortable being stroked and touched (but not on her head, and mainly when there are snacks involved!)
-
Kestrel is gentle and loving and won't lash out or scratch - but with a new family and new place, it will take quite some time for her to let you touch her and handle her. With time and understanding, her personality will most certainly grow and change - but her new family needs to know that she might never become a cuddly lap cat and that's okay!
-
Kestrel is great with other animals though! What she lacks in human social skills, she makes up for with cats and dogs. She will always have a little grumble and a hiss at first meeting, so as with most animals a slow introduction is advised - but if you have a cat or a dog who is lonely a seeking a playmate, she will be ideal!
-
Due to her pale features, Kestrel will be very prone to skin cancer and we would advise that she be a primarily indoor-only cat in the interests of her long term health. She has been indoors full-time in foster care and doesn't mind at all.
-
Kestrel is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. She's up to date with flea and worm treatments. And to try and find her a home as soon as possible, her adoption fee has been waived, so she's FREE to adopt. (Of course, donations to help us cover the cost of her vet care would be appreciated. But finding her a home is the priority!)
If you can be Kestrel's saviour and give her the loving forever home she needs, we would love to hear from you.
