About Adelaide
Hello. It is a "silver-lining" joy to introduce you to Adelaide. She's a real beauty. My name is Kelly. I'm a SAFE photographer & profiler. I have to speak for Adelaide as she is so very shy. My catch phrase for Adelaide is... "Battle-scarred baby Mamma seeks TLC in biblical proportions to bring her tail up & make her smile". She is only young but she has such a sage & sombre look in her sparkly caramel-coloured eyes. She breaks your heart instantly with her big eyes that are full of hopeful trust. "Please love me", is all they say.
She has such a placid nature. She is an excellent Mummy. She loves her pups so much, is always checking they are okay. The pups are already learning how to use the doggy door & how to "play nicely together". She is still breast feeding her pups as they begin to eat big pup food.
Adelaide is a diamond gal who has had it rough - she has a distorted right paw & two big patches of scar tissue on her torso where the fur is unlikely to grow back. Adelaide had such a haunted look in her eyes (eyes out on stalks which I personally think all new mums have - human as well as from the animal kingdom! That startled rabbit "WTH?" look) when the Rangers first found her & her pups. Adelaide's human foster Dad said it's like she's been run over & never received medical attention, but it's possible the foot deformity is congenital - whatever the cause, she's been checked by the vet and it doesn't seem to bother her.
Adelaide is very wary of new situations & new humans at first but when she is coaxed out of her shell she is SO adorable - very gentle, loving & cuddly. She has a Kelpie look about her, "red dog" style, & her gorgeous coloured fur is SO soft on her head & ears - perfect for constant pats!! She is very food orientated so will sit & prick her ears up for you, if you have a treat!
I thought Adelaide looked sad in her photos, but, when you meet her, you instantly realise she doesn't feel sorry for herself, she's not sad, as she troops along being a good Mamma to her pups. She loves her pups so much & is always alert to where they are & what they're up to! She is outdoor toilet trained & is starting to come to her name.
Adelaide has been taken for walks, is good on the lead but, at this stage, she seems frightened of new experiences - yet, all the time, remaining gentle & slow. She is full of hope, this girl. "The bigger the storm, the brighter the rainbow".
At the start of her photo shoot, Adelaide's tail was right up between her legs but by the end, her tail was relaxed & she always goes up to say "Hello" to everyone. This beautiful natured girl is looking for quiet, gentle humans with not much going on in their home.
