About Benny
If you're after a beautiful, cheeky little soul in your life, Benny is your boy! Benny is still a baby and very much Staffy-like, apart from the long legs! He loves to play, sleep, hang out with his humans, then do it all again on repeat. He is currently in foster care with an older Staffy and loves playing with his foster brother. Tug-o-war is one of their favourite games, and Benny is happy to be dragged around still clinging to his end of the rope. Everyday is a new adventure for him - whether it's sniffing the scents in the wind or hearing the crunch of leaves underfoot, he is a curious boy happy to learn and grow every day.
As a pup, Benny is teething and likes to relieve his itchy teeth by chewing his blanket, so toys like Kongs or chew toys etc. are important to keep his brain busy and out of mischief! This cutie is looking for a family willing to invest the time taking him to training, and daily exercise to keep his body and mind active are essential. He is a food oriented and smart boy with so much capacity to learn. He is already house trained, knows how to use the dog door and knows his own name.
Being such a lively boy, he would suit a family with primary school aged children or older. He adores human affection and attention, but is just as happy sleeping in a quiet corner if he knows his people are close by. We think he would be ok in a family of full time workers, as long as he gets daily exercise and lots of love and attention when his family is home.
It's always hard to know with rescue pups and mixed breed pups just how big we'll grow to, so SAFE has estimated the size he'll be when fully grown.
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I'd like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I'll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me "no" if I'm chewing something I shouldn't and give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!
Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations, because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth for around $150 airfare.
