Hi, my name is Missy and I’m a very sweet, pretty 6 year old Maltese x. My rapid and wonderful change to become happy and good natured from a scared and timid little dog a short time ago has thrilled my foster family. I still enjoy staying close to my new humans but I’ve also become great friends with another small dog. When the foster family go out, we hang out on the couch and keep each other company. I really love having another dog in my family. I have even started playing chase with my new fur friend. I have become ‘young again’.
I am starting to enjoy meeting new people, I’ve even met the grandkids. I don’t mind them being around as long as they are gentle with me and realise I’m just a small dog. I like to go in the car now too. I would be perfect to take out to a cafe as I have lovely manners around food and can sit still on your lap.
When I hear the word ‘walk’, I get super excited. My fitness level is improving each day and therefore I can walk a little further each time. I’m starting to get a spring in my step, as fast as my little legs will take me. Luckily I don’t weigh much so Foster Mum can pick me up and carry me home if needed. I love to get in my pyjamas at night, or wear my coat if it’s cold.
I’m so polite and loving with my human and dog family. I’ve had to learn about toilet training again since arriving in foster care, but that seems to be under control now. It’s lucky I’m smart as well as sweet. My recall is good which apparently makes me a pleasure to have around as I always do as I’m asked and I come when called.
If you would like to meet me, please put in an application now. I can’t wait to meet you.
Love Missy xxx

Adoption details
~ ADOPTION PROCESS ~
STEP 1: An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT DO INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS ** We require all animals to have a meet & greet with their new family before they are officially adopted, no exceptions. If you are willing and able to meet the dog in person, we are happy to accomodate the adoption.
STEP 2: If successful, our foster carer will be in touch within 24-48 hours.
STEP 3: A 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
STEP 4: The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 4 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
STEP 5: A 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from the foster carer.
STEP 6: The Adoption is the finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email after this period. Please note this can take up to 4 weeks pending on the microchip paperwork.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT HOLD ANY ANIMALS SO PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT NOW. **
