About Joice
Hi everyone!
Kelpie female
DOB 18/03/2019
Located Toowoomba Qld
I'm Joice. I was surrendered to OTC with my sister Kimba, after my breeder couldn't sell us. My mum has now been desexed by OTC.
Since coming into care I have shown what a smart and excitable girl I am. I love life and am very enthusiastic! I am definitely a kelpie - clever, loyal and high energy. I am apparently a labrador x, and sometimes you can see it in my face. I am ball obsessed, and will be a great fetch buddy! I will be a great walk/run buddy also and will really benefit from exercise and even agility courses. I would be a good candidate for lure coursing/agility/fly ball etc too, due to my eagerness to learn and please you. If you're wanting a lawn ornament, I'm not your dog.
I absolutely love my canine friends and my ideal home has another medium-large size dog there to teach me the rest of my manners. I won't do well living on my own, as I never have and really find comfort living with other dogs. I haven't yet met cats, but with an experienced handler I would be ok to live alongside them if you are willing to teach me how.
I currently sleep on the deck at night with my doggy friends, and am learning place training when I am allowed inside. My current carers are away from home full time hours on rotating rosters so I am used to having to occupy myself. I enjoy car rides and don't get travel sick, and am learning how to sit/drop etc for a treat.
If you're looking for a smart, confident girl and can offer a structured and committed home, I will be perfect for you!
Medical notes
I am desexed, have had two vaccinations, and am microchipped and up to date with flea/tick/worm.

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
