Hi everyone!
My name is Jon/Jonny and I am a beautiful boy. I am a loving, smart boy who is eager to learn. I have lived with a human child, two adults, and two other bigger dogs, as well as a small breed of dog. I do well with all of them and love their company! I enjoy companionship from both people and dogs. I am submissive, and respond well to correction from other dogs. I am a quick learner and can pick up commands easily. I am a pretty easy going dog, and am as happy to play outside as I am to snuggle on the couch. I am used to a full time working carer, and just hang out with the other dog in the yard or in the sunroom, and don't get into things I shouldn't. At night I sleep inside, and my toilet training is going well. I love to swim and explore creeks etc, and have great recall so am fine for off-leash areas!
My mum was a bandog x mastiff and my dad was a small mastiff x. I currently live behind a 1.5m fence and show no sign of wanting to escape. I haven't met cats yet, but an experienced owner who keeps the cats housed adequately (no roaming outside) should be able to train me with ease. I travel fine in the car, and don't mind the vet one bit- just give me a treat and they can handle me with ease.
My ideal home has another dog for company, will let me sleep inside at night, and will take me out a few times a week on walks or to a park. I will have medium energy levels and likely reach about 35kg as an adult.
So could I be the one for you? If so, apply soon - this beautiful face won't last long!
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
