About Zara ~ Rottweiler (on trial 24/8/19)
Santa mixed up his Christmas list … Zara is a sweet, soft hearted, loving 10 year old female Rottweiler looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She unfortunately was an unwanted Christmas gift as a puppy and the owner has done right by her for the past 10 years (so no negative comments please), but knows it is in Zara's best interest to find a new home.
Zara has been an outside dog all her life. She has never been allowed indoors to eat or sleep. Only on the very odd occasion may have been let into the laundry and with no accidents or issues. She rarely is taken for walks. Her little buddy who kept her company passed and she is now all alone.
This cutie pie has been around dogs and shows no sign of aggression toward another dog unless the other dog gets a little snappy – then she will speak. She had no signs of food aggression around another dog. She has basic commands. She is manageable on a leash and able to be taken for walks, but with more regular walks and training it is expected that she would improve on the lead.
Zara has such a placid nature - typical signs of an American Rottweiler with the softer temperament. She has been around kids whom respect dogs (but no typical boisterous play or ear or tail pulling) so supervision with younger kids would be a good idea until all settles and everyone is assimilated. She is unknown with cats / pocket pets. She is not an excessive barker, jumper or digger.
This little angel needs a home full of love so she can finally know how it feels and live out her golden years in bliss. Someone who can let her inside and show her what it is like to be wanted. A soft bed and cuddles. A warm home cooked meal as she has only known dry dog biscuits and a few scraps.
She has only been with the one owner so we are looking for someone who can understand and be there for her with such a huge change.
Zara has recently been to the vets and is up to date with all vaccinations. She has a calcium growth on her tail which is of no issue. Her teeth are in good shape and has a stunning smile. She is a little overweight due to lack of exercise but not excessive.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
