About Scout
Looking for an energetic addition to your family?
Scout is a highly intelligent pure-bred one-year-old Border Collie who loves to play and run, but has recently also been doing well with the stay command and walking with a harness and lead.
Scout is friendly when meeting other dogs and can sometimes get overexcited, so further monitored socialisation especially at off-leash parks is something that he would really benefit from. He can also get excited when meeting new people and likes to jump up, but he is quickly learning that bum on the ground is the way to get attention!
As he is a working dog breed, he would be best suited to a large backyard with owners who have an active and inclusive lifestyle and maybe another female dog or two for company in the home as Scout is used to having another dog around to keep him entertained.
If you enjoy training and teaching new tricks, Scout could be the dog for you! Border Collies are very smart and love activities such as fetch and agility training.
Scout has been through puppy school and intensive training with a professional, but ongoing consistent training is recommended for him. He is toilet trained, and knows the sit, stay and drop commands.
He is a boisterous and loving boy that would love a family to show him affection and also keep him stimulated with toys, training and treats.
His new family must be committed to his physical and mental stimulation needs, ongoing training and socialisation. Working breed experience is preferred. He should be allowed to live both inside and out and needs a home with another active dog at home to play with.
If you think you can keep up with Scout, please complete the adoption enquiry form via our Fetching Dogs website as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
