About Jetson
Hi, my name is Jetson, I am an 18 month old Beagle boy with brown eyes that will melt your heart đ Clearly if you are reading my profile, you know where I have ended upâŚ& no itâs not Kansas Toto! My current owners rescued me about a year ago from the unknown & I was not in a good way đ˘ They treated me so well, some would say a little too well⌠& now I am being my typical Beagly self with a little extra Beagly Beagle đ my furents are not coping too well with those beagly traits, with my now Beagly self coming out more, I end up spending most of my time outside. This lifestyle & my past before being rescued, resulted in a few issues being mistaken & misdiagnosed, so, they have decided to let someone who understands me better, give me a forever home. I havenât wanted to appear on Facebook or the website until I knew I could clear my name with the help of my foster carer & Kylie from Dog Bizness, & we did! I was definitely confused, as the hoomans in my life did not understand my needs and my wants in life. Will you? Will it be love at first sniff? đMy foster mummy says, yes I am a typical Beagle with a few of those Beagly traits⌠but I am also flourishing in foster care with some, if not most of these traits disappearing with some strong love & a different environment.đĄ
So, how about I buy you a liver treat & we get to know one another? Iâll go first⌠I am a super sweet, goofy boy who loves to run, play, I love my food, & I love hoomans, big & small giving me all the attention, pats, cuddles & ear rubs. I love life, I am open minded, love adventure & I am up for anything⌠hmmm sounding like a creepy tinder profile. Let me explain better, I love life and everything in it, I am adventurous, I donât mind getting dirty & playing anywhere with anyone, I enjoy going to the dog parks & the beach too. I love games like âfind it, treasure huntingâ, Tug of War & running around but my all time favourite thing to do is smooching with my hoomans.. I am great in the car, love going for rides to wherever the nose takes us.. đIâm pretty relaxed about loud noises, storms & getting a bath. I love snuggling on the couch or the bed with you whilst we catch up on 10 playđş. I am toilet & house trained, I am cat tested but I think I would prefer to not have a feline sibling as I am an anti cat smoocher! I also think due to my past of not having a good start, nor did I have loads of attention & trainingâŚI struggle with trusting life & struggle sharing my hoomans⌠therefore, I may prefer to be the only furry in the home. BUT, as I am only 18 months old, and recently desexed⌠I could learn to be ok with a furry sibling with strong love, guidance, structure, training & stability like all kiddies & doggies need at this stage and age.
Okay, letâs talk about those Beagle traits that have seen me enter your world⌠I was a little bossy with my furry sister, as I mentioned to you, I didnât like to share the attention, but now I have 2 foster siblings & I am not getting away with the whole bossy business! My foster mummy is teaching me right from wrong⌠itâs okay to share the love! I may or may not, dig⌠but itâs not for escaping, more like âhmmm there is something smelly there, I must see what that isâ, I may bark a little, but typically to talk to you or whilst playing with my foster brother & sister.. I tend to jump, highâŚespecially at dinner time, or when we get visitors! My foster mummy is working on all these things and says that I am easy to train & I will be the perfect doggy soon!
I would love a family who has loads of time to spend with me, I would love some hooman kiddies to run & play withâŚ& where I am a big part of the family inside the home, so I can learn to trust & be myself in a safe, loving, spoiling, furever home! I am located on the Sunshine Coast âď¸. I have visited the Dogtor đŠââď¸ for all my checks, & I am ready for meeting, greeting & smooching my new hoomans.
Adoption details
All of our Beagles & crosses will be vet checked & vetted prior to adoption. They'll be desexed, vaccinated, Heartworm tested, and preventatives started, Flea/worm & tick preventatives up to date, & any other medical needs completed/controlled with medication. We place a post on Facebook & on the website advertising each dog giving their full description and requirements. BRQ accepts applications until a date provided to our supporters This is always mentioned on Facebook, our website and our emails when applications are sent this way. The committee reads each one, choosing the best 1, 2, or 3 applications (depending the number of applications we receive) that suit each individual dogâs needs, personalities and developmental/health.
The Coordinator will organise the meet & greets between the foster parent who has the hound in care & the successful applicants (at times the Foster Coordinator will also attend). These take place in mutually agreed dog parks. We will ask that all family members & any other hounds you have already accompany you on the meet & greet. For families who are interstate or in regional QLD, meet/greets, yard/fence checks will be completed by one of our foster carers in the area, via Skype, or we may ask you to provide photos/videos of your fences, yard & house/yard where your Beagle/Hound will be allowed & spend most of its time. If the family is needing transport via plane or other means, this will be a case by case discussion between committee and adopting family, and all fees covered by the adopting family. BRQ can assist you to obtain a quote for this (Just know that all modes of transport will be scheduled based on the weather. For example, if the temperature is high that day, flights will be early morning or night).
If successful with the meet & greet, the coordinator will organise to do the yard & fence checks. This is done to check that the fences & yard are both safe & is secure enough that no Beagle can escape. Any potential problems that may need fixing can be brought to the attention of the potential adopting family. No trial weekend will take place until problems have been fixed. The foster coordinator choose & contact the most suitable family for the particular dog they are applying for based on the meet/greet & yard/fence check & the needs of the dog. Whilst we allow the foster family to say goodbye to their foster dog, we ask for the adoption fee to be deposited and cleared in our bank account before any animal is released. We do not take cash payments, we give out our bank details & depending on who you bank with can take up to 48 hours to be processed. Trial period of up to 12 days is then organised, this time helps both you, your family, the foster dog and other pets become familiar with each other & see if it all works between you all. Whilst on trial, the coordinator will call a few times during, & you are quite welcome to send us messages or call to ask questions or if there are any concerns etc. Please know you are covered by the trial period, if anything happens or there are issues, we ask to be contacted immediately. We can arrange vet care or any other requirements during this time. We can also help with training tips or strategies to assist your new family member to settle in their new home, also with dietary & behavioural training during this time.
If after the trial ends you have decided to continue with the adoption of your Beagle/Hound or cross, we will send you out your adoption pack. The pack includes De-sexing certificate or proof of de-sexing paperwork, Microchip ownership change over, Vaccination certificates. Adoption certificate, Adoption Information, Receipt of payment, Worming, Heartworm and Flea/Tick dates. With puppies, you receive a puppy pack. Life time guarantee of advice, training & support. If for any reason the trial doesnât work & the dog is returned to BRQ, the adopting family is refunded the fee minus an admin fee of $50.
