About Roger
The fabulous Mr. Roger is looking for his forever home, and if a snuggly shadow is your idea of a perfect companion, then Roger just might be the hound for you.
Roger loves human company and his ideal home is one where his humans are around more often than not. He would love if his humans worked from home, or only for short PT hours. Roger has had issues with separation anxiety in the past and will need a home with people who have the patience and time to help build his confidence when left home alone.
In Roger’s foster home, he has settled really well, and after a couple of weeks of being a ‘velcro’ dog, he built the confidence to relax in his own bed for most of the day. However, if he thinks a walk (so much fun!) or a meal is on the way, he’s right by your side!
Roger is well house-trained and knows ‘on your bed’ and ‘shake’. He loves his plush squeaky toys but the best fun ever is ripping up paper or cardboard. He loves to lean into you for pats and despite his very nice house manners, he has a thing for bread, so don’t leave your lunch unattended on the kitchen table 😊
Roger walks nicely on leash and loves going for walks however he can be a bit excitable around other dogs and would benefit from further training to teach him to be calm with other pups. He does also occasionally resource guard/sleep startle in his bed and for this reason, would best suit a home with adults and no children. We can help with training resources and advice, and he has already made great improvements in foster care.
If you think you have the right home for Roger and would like to learn more about him, please email adopt@amazinggreys.com.au for an application form.
** Roger is not small animal tolerant and is not suitable for a home with cats **
