About Macey
Think Macey Gray.....""I try to say good-bye & I choke, try to walk away & I stumble, though I try to hide it, it's clear...my world crumbles when you are not here..."". Stunningly gentle puppy looking for super star love.
Hi, I'm Macey. I'm a stunning brindle coloured, soft furred puppy who has been fostered with my canine sister, Midnight. Everyone who meets us cannot get over how gentle & sweet natured we are. I was the quieter one, preferring to hang back & hide in the bushes when I first came to my foster home but now I lead the fun!!
I am just a puppy so I have lots to learn about the outside world - I am due to have my first vaccinations soon & then my human foster Mummy is taking me out & about & I CAN'T wait!! I am a typical puppy in that I am a little wary at first until I get to know you & I can't do any tricks yet. I am a beautiful blank canvas & I will need to be trained.
I am currently fostered in a home with 2 dogs & ferrets!! I get on with EVERYTHING!! The world is my oyster, I am quite independent & am happy to amuse myself, playing outside for hours. Both my sister & I are BIG smoochers - I laid my head in the photographer's lap & stayed that way for ages. I love pats, I love cuddles, I love food, I love LIFE!!
I am being taught by my canine foster Mum & Dad to bark at appropriate times - I do practice on the birds in the back yard! They like it. I have to hone my singing skills, you see, as I am named after a singing legend!!
I am most relaxed & happy outside in the garden but am a little wary of coming inside. Hence, I am learning to toilet outside really well. We all play together super well, confident animals rolling & growling around on the floor together & I LOVE to stick my nose into everything!!! The photographer had to clean our noses several times & STILL the red dirt wouldn't come off or we put it straight back on there!
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I'd like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I'll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me "no" if I'm chewing something I shouldn't and give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
Being a mixed breed pup, it's hard to know exactly what size I'll grow to but SAFE is pretty good at estimating.
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!
Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations, because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth for around $150 airfare.
