About Ingrid
After spending 10 years in a research facility, Ingrid required foster care to learn some confidence and doggy manners.
Don’t be fooled by her age, Ingrid is a puppy at heart that wants to be involved in everything…even when she is not sure how or when life is a little scary.
Entering a strange new world was very overwhelming and life is still taking some getting used too. She is not perfect and often needs gentle reassurance when she starts overthinking and pacing. The quickest way for her to feel at ease is some reassurance from her doggy friends. Being part of a pack is comforting for her so her new home will need to be a multi-dog household. The more animals the merrier as far as Ingrid is concerned.
Ingrid loves all dogs, so her new dog family must be patient, like to play but not be too dominating or pushy. This beautiful girl will walk away rather than fight for her place in the hierarchy. Her ideal new bestie will allow her to sleep on top of them in a cuddle puddle as snuggling is her very favourite thing.
Ingrid is hoping to be welcomed into a family with a kitten or a patient cat or 2 (or 5)! Ingrid’s curiosity for feline company is growing each day and she enjoys giving her foster family cats a quick lick or head-butt. This playfulness can sometimes lead to barking at them as she is still learning that cats are the rulers of households.
Despite her love for the 4-legged variety, 2-legged friends can still a little frightening. Ingrid has come a long way but is not suited for a family with young children. Her human family will need to be understanding of her cautious nature when approaching people and continue to slowly introduce her to new people. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body, she would rather hide until they go away.
Ingrid is quirky and when she trusts you, she will greet you with an adorable howl at the door. She is a Hound, so she can be quite verbal when she is excited. Ingrid is fond of sneaking up behind you and giving you a quick bop or nosey in your hand. It is time for Ingrid to find her forever home and settle into her new routine which will include sleeping inside, getting spoilt with treats as well as learning to love and be loved a little bolder each day.
