About Magnum
Hey, hey, hey - anyone ready to play, play, play?!!! Hi, my name's Magnum - maybe because I have ""cookies & cream"" ice-cream colourings!!
I was brought in by Rangers, found as a stray, fending for myself on the streets! I feel like I need a cape because I'm definitely super pup material!! I am a beautiful blank canvas, VERY food orientated (I helped myself to the photographer's bag & ran off with the packet of smackos in there - DEFINITELY whacko for the smackos!) so would be a doddle to train. I am into absolutely everything at the moment so it is hard to tell what sort of dog I would make - my photographer thought I reminded her of a working dog, a sniffer dog at the airport, as I am very agile, sniffy, & clever!!
My fur is puppy soft & typical of heelers though I have a unique big brown spot just above my tail - my human foster siblings call me ""Spot"". I have almost got ""sit"" spot on but everything else is too hard to be still for!! Tails are NOT for sitting on - they are for wagging constantly in the air as you go about having way too much fun on a daily basis & also, occasionally, for chasing (your own tail that is!). I would suit a household with a lot going on & kids that are a little older so I don't knock them over with my excitement for LIFE!
I am working on my toilet training - sometimes it's so hard to stop playing to concentrate on a widdle! I am currently fostered with 3 young kids & two other canine pals. Boy, do we get up to mischief - soooooo much fun. My human foster Mummy has a great outdoor area too & every time I get let outside it's like I'm seeing it for the first time!! SO much to see & do, like all good babies, I am a busy bee! Places to go, people to see, things to do.
I do like to shower with kisses but often I'm too busy to stop. I do love my puppy power naps though, bit of a recharge, & that's when I'm cuddled! I've settled well now into my human foster parent's ensuite to sleep at night. If I've had a busy day, I sleep like a dream.
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I'd like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I'll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me "no" if I'm chewing something I shouldn't and give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
