About Nellie
Beautiful Nellie was apparently found wandering on a rural highway by a young couple, who made the decision that they liked her and would keep her! However, fast forward a few months and they surrendered her and their other dog to the local Pound. She had no microchip and there was no way of locating her original owners.
Initially she went into care with the local Rescue group, who have a kennels, but after being there for a while, poor Nellie was going stir crazy, and one of the vet staff took her home to foster. Although a timid, quiet girl, she loved the foster Mum and children, but was VERY scared of the man of the house.
The rescue group had no other foster carers, and we (AWL Moree) were asked to help. So, how have I found Nellie at my place? She is a beautiful dog, who has loved being free in my garden to relax in the sunshine, or play with the other dogs. She was very wary of an interaction with me, but, after a few days of sitting in the garden waiting, with some trusty BBQ chook.....I have won her over, and we are now firm friends. She is now trusting men a lot more.
She is fantastic travelling in the car, and is a lovely girl to take for a walk on leash.
She love, love, loves water! Spends time in our clam shell pool every day.....brrrrr! So if her new family is near a beach or a river, she would be sooo happy.
Nellie would love a family who were home a fair bit, and who would be willing to allow her to take her time to adjust to her new home. She is such a wonderful girl, who will reward you a thousandfold!
Please send an enquiry and tell us why you could be a good fit for Nellie. Do you have other pets? Any children? How long would Nellie be alone during the day, if at all?
We are located in Moree, northern NSW. Nellie would love to meet you here, but if it’s too far to drive, we do have pet road transport that comes through every fortnight, which is easy to arrange at new owners cost.
