About Tess
Hey everyone! My name is Tess.
Despite how happy and healthy I look now, I haven't always been loved. A while ago I lived with people who didn't want to feed me or care for me, and I was in terrible condition. Thankfully, I found my way to some beautiful people who fed me up and got me a place with OTC. Once in care, I had vaccinations, desex, microchip etc done. I am perfectly healthy and a happy little nugget of a dog.
I currently live with a young child and two puppies (not my pups, just foster siblings). I am gentle and loving with all. I sleep outside on a deck, but am also well house trained so could easily be an inside dog if you wish. I love rope toys, and things like Kongs and puzzle toys that make me think. I don't mind car rides, and have no known phobias or fears. I am amazingly patient and gentle with children, and a great dog for letting you know there is someone in the yard/at the door. I am not aggressive but will definitely sound the alarm... great for anyone who wants someone to watch their back!
If you want to skip the puppy phase but still have fun and someone who's crazily happy and enthusiastic, that's me. I haven't yet been tested with cats, so please don't try to make me live with any unless you are an experienced handler. I am used to 6ft fencing so hopefully my new home has similar. I am only a small chunk, just below knee height, and stocky. I am estimated to be born in December 2018 so should not grow much more at all.

- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
