Hi there, I’m Basil, a loving and enthusiastic young dog who loves to walk with my human, swim with my human, and hang out on the couch with my human. I’m generally a relaxed and quiet guy but I can be a bit excitable and boisterous and I don’t like loud noises or sudden movements. My foster mum says I am a quick learner and I walk well on a lead but I don’t understand why she won’t let me chase the fluffy bouncy things or the flappy feathery things. Sometimes she throws her ball away and I show her where it is but then she doesn’t go and get it. She says that’s not how the game works. I would much rather chase things that keep moving!
I am happiest when I’m hanging with my human and I’ll mostly stay out of the way. You can leave me behind if you have to but I will try and follow you although I settle down very quickly if I can’t come with you. I don’t really like other boy dogs and I am also a little bit jealous of sharing my human so I am best suited to a house where I am the only dog or at least the only male dog.
My foster dad says my tail would make the finest Davy Crockett hat in the land but that’s just silly because it’s my tail. My foster mum brushes it for me, she says I’m so soft and cuddly like a real life velvet teddy bear. I love being brushed and cuddled and having my belly rubbed and I try to repay them with kisses but I keep getting rebuffed.
All I want is to be a loving and fun part of your life and I am looking forward to my next adventure.
