About Stroud
In the park today, Stroud was described as a ‘gentleman’ and that’s exactly what he is.
He is a remarkably calm and well mannered puppy; he even eats his food slowly! He is always eager to please and therefore easy to train – he has already mastered toilet training (with accidents only if it is raining outside), can use the dog flap, and knows how to sit.
Stroud trots beside you on the lead perfectly and stays close to you when off the lead in the park. He will make a good running companion and matches your pace carefully without pulling or lagging behind; whether you’re running or walking. His favourite thing in the world is to be cuddled and to have his tummy tickled.
He’s great with kids and cats and other dogs of all sizes – he is currently living in a foster home with two kids, a small dog and four cats! He loves to play with toys and play tug of war and chase a ball. He also loves slippers and shoes but drops them when you say ‘no’ firmly. He likes to be part of the family and if you put him outside he does bark to remind you he’s there. He snuggles into his crate to sleep at night; but likes it to be near you.
Stroud will need a home where he is part of the family and lives inside. He doesn’t like to be left alone, so a home with an older, playful dog or someone who is around a lot is important. He will need daily walks but he’s not the kind of dog who needs to run off their excess energy – he’s way too chilled for that! With ongoing training he will grow into a fabulous, gentle dog.
If you can offer a loving home which is committed to his ongoing training, socialisation and happiness, have the time to spend with him and want to make him a valued family member, please apply by completing the adoption enquiry form via our Fetching Dogs website as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
