After receiving wonderful news at his 6month check up, this ridiculously good looking boy Percy is now ready for Adoption!
Due to Percy being born a cleft palate, there was always a chance of him requiring major surgery to fix this. Every situation is different depending on the severity and how the animals goes with growth and development. With a lot of time and patience, Percy has grown so beautifully and throughout his growth he has not only conquered so many day to day tasks that can be hard for them but his Cleft Palate overtime has stretched and grown together enough for him to not require surgery at this time! Percy cannot eat hard things such as raw bones, ice cubes or anything that may harm the inside of his mouth.
Personality:
Hello, my name is Percy! I am a 7 month old Purebred Pug. I was born with a cleft palate so my breeder discarded me. Thankfully Lucky Paws stepped up.
My cleft palate doesn't slow me down at all. I am very clever and have learnt to eat and drink normally. I need a premium diet, I am currently on Royal Canin dry biscuits and some special wet food which my carer will show you if you would like to meet me.
I am a typical Pug puppy, I am outgoing, hilarious and love to be the centre of attention. I would much prefer my new family to have a small dog to play with, another pug would be great or just another small playful dog. I love cuddles, going for walks & outings. I am crate trained and sleep all night, sometimes I even put myself to bed.
Requirements of adoption:
Percy has been in care since he was 2 days old, overtime and due to his special-ness there are requirements for his new forever home!
• Percy must be adopted in the SE QLD Region
• Percy must have high quality dog food
• Upkeep cleanliness and hygiene for him
• A family who is home most of the time
• Another furry dog friend who is willing to play with him
• No small children under 10 years
• Daily walks and exercise during cooler times
• Inside living, cannot be left outside in the heat
• Cool environment with air-conditioning in summer
Vet requirements:
Percy will be required to go to a follow up vet check up at 1 year of age with our veterinarian to ensure his palate is still in good condition. This consult will be paid for by Lucky Paws Dog Rescue and must be performed by Ipswich Family Vet Clinic.
Our adoption application can be found at www.luckypaws.com.au/adoption-application
Percy’s adoption fee is $1500 and is not negotiable. Popular breeds like Percy, adopt easily and help offset the cost of treating other animals in our care who need specialist care or surgeries.
Medical notes
Percy has had the following vetwork completed:
~ Desexed
~ C5 Vaccinated

Adoption details
~ ADOPTION PROCESS ~
STEP 1: An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT DO INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS ** We require all animals to have a meet & greet with their new family before they are officially adopted, no exceptions. If you are willing and able to meet the dog in person, we are happy to accomodate the adoption.
STEP 2: If successful, our foster carer will be in touch within 24-48 hours.
STEP 3: A 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
STEP 4: The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 4 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
STEP 5: A 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from the foster carer.
STEP 6: The Adoption is the finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email after this period. Please note this can take up to 4 weeks pending on the microchip paperwork.
Sorry we can’t take calls, as our rescue is run entirely by volunteers, but we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 - 48 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
** PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT HOLD ANY ANIMALS SO PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT NOW. **
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
