Atlas

Atlas is a 6mth old smooth coated Jack Russell Terrier. He has a beautiful spotty coat and a mask over his face. His fur is lovely and soft and he loves to snuggle. He is microchipped, vaccinated and will be desexed before joining his new family.

Atlas is currently residing in Canberra and is living with three small children and loves being around them. He is very tolerant of their crazy and loud behaviour and is always ready for a game and loves to play fetch and chasey. He has good recall and has shown no interest in escaping. Being a small dog he will need a secure yard to keep him safe. He is toilet trained and sleeps quietly inside through the night.

Atlas spends time outside during the day and hasn't shown any signs of anxiety being outside alone while his humans are out. He is also crate trained and happily spends time in his crate while the family are eating. Atlas is very food motivated and easy to train. He can sit, drop and stay. We're working on shake at the moment. He responds well to an assertive pack leader and would do well attending juvenile training to brush up on his basics and learn some new skills.

Atlas is practicing wearing a harness and walking on a lead, he certainly isn't perfect but is learning very quickly. Atlas loves to explore and would love to go on adventures with his new family. He also travels perfectly in the car.

During Atlas' young life he missed out on a lot of training and socialisation so would benefit from lots of both. He will need slow introductions to other dogs, but we feel that he would love a playmate of equal energy and enthusiasm. In saying that he is currently living in foster care as an only dog and seems perfectly happy.

Being a young pup Atlas loves to nibble and chew, he will need understanding in learning not to do this and redirection in chewing appropriate items. Atlas is an easy going dog and would suit a variety of homes and situations.
