About Lilly
Well, hello. I'm Lilly and I'm looking for an awesome bestie! I am sooooooo sweet and smart. I'll do anything for your attention. I'm quite sensitive, so positive reinforcement is the way forward for me (which is the best thing for all dogs anyway). I love to chase, jump, follow, to play fetch and to run super fast. I would loooooove to do obedience and agility training. I would be awesome at it! I'm a fast learner and have already mastered sit and can offer my paw for pats and dinner :) My lead training and recall are going well. And I'm learning crate training too. I'm a little timid around men, especially if they're wearing hi-vis gear.
I went to the beach for the first time with my foster carer. It was fascinating, but I wasn't going near that big wet, scary stuff. Then we went home and had heaps of cuddles. I'd love to cuddle the whole time we're not out doing exciting things. Foster mum says my love dial needs toning down a bit. She thinks I'd be happiest in a home where I'm the only pet and don't feel I need to compete for my loved ones' attention. I love to play with other dogs, but can get jealous of other dogs around human attention and can also be nippy with them if I'm over-excited or not sure. I'm still a pup, and learning that this isn't OK behaviour and you can check with foster mum about the progress I'm making with that. My behaviour is really a lot like a border collie, so it will be important for me to be able to relax when I'm at home to have exercise twice a day, and lots of mental and physical enrichment. It'd be pawsome to love some jobs to do around the house.
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I'd like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I'll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me "no" if I'm chewing something I shouldn't and give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
It's always hard to know with rescue pups and mixed breed pups just how big we'll grow to, so SAFE has estimated the size I'll be when I'm fully grown.
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!
Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth for around $150 airfare.
