About Amai
Pretty, pretty Amai…
If you’re after a special little girl who will not leave your side and loves to follow you around then Amai is the one for you.
Despite limited socialisation Amai is friendly with other dogs, although can be shy on first meeting. She is currently in foster care with 2 other dogs and a cat and she just loves to play and wrestle with one of her foster brothers (an 18 month old whippet).
She gets so excited to see you on your return home. Amai does suffer from some anxiety due to her previous life experiences and has come quite a way since being in foster care for the past 6 weeks. Her anxiety can present by over excitement, where she will turn around in constant circles and barks. This behaviour is getting less frequent the longer she's in care but any new family will need to understand and accept that it may never stop completely and it's just one of her quirks. And it's not all the time, just when feeling super excited or a little anxious when you leave.
She understands some basic commands and will need further guidance in this area. She walks perfectly on the leash and will get excited if she sees other dogs. She travels well in the car and is happy to run errands with you and enjoy the adventures of a good life. She is food motivated, in fact she just loves her food. She is in the process of being toilet trained and she currently uses a cat/dog door as well.
We are looking for a home where Amai will be part of the family and included in their daily activities. She will require a home with another dog who will interact and play with her. A home where someone is home more often than not would be ideal. She should be allowed inside to be with the family and have access to a secure yard. Also a home with older children who are not too loud would be preferred as she is not used to being around younger ones.
Oh and just one more thing about pretty Amai – she loves to lie in front of the fire during the cold winter evenings.
If you would like to make Amai a part of your family then let us know by filling in an adoption enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
