About Hodor
Hi! I am Hodor and I am your new very cute, very cheeky doggo..... Now before you jump right in and fill out the application form, I need to ensure that you hooman are compatible with what I need. A doggo like me gets a lot of interest so I need to make sure I make the right choice!
Firstly, I am young and flamboyant and have close to no manners, my foster carers have worked very hard. I initially jumped all over every hooman, they were covered in scratches in bruises. Apparently that's what happens when you don't get that thing called "training" as a giant breed. So, you must be VERY committed to ongoing training. If not, this is a DEAL BREAKER, because I do not want to end up back at the pound. It was scary. My future home will be asked for proof that I have been booked in with a force free trainer upon adoption confirmation.
Secondly, I also have no manners around food and other dogs. Apparently something called "resource guarding". Even when I smell the human cooking their delicious noms, I will growl at my foster sister to say "hey back off - its mine". Yeah, thats not acceptable apparently, but I spent so long without good food that I don't understand how to act. So if you have another dog, I need to be STRICTLY separated around any food or treats. I am working on crate training so I can learn to be in there and not worry about my foster sister stealing my dinner.
Thirdly, no young kids in the home. Even though Ive worked hard on not jumping, it doesn't take much to set me backwards and I may accidentally hurt a child.
Fourthly, if I am to be an only dog, I would need someone home more often than not so I don't get too lonely. I will whine when left home alone without my foster sister, but eventually I will settle.
Lastly, I am a puppy, I chew things, A LOT! So a home that prepared for lots of training, enrichment and guidance is needed. I am probably not suited to a first time Dane owner due to my lack of training and ability to get very aroused and jumpy.
Your home must not have cats (or if so, be able to keep them separated and do a very gradual introduction and never be near him around food), you must have minimum 5 foot fencing to keep me safe in the yard.
So.... if you fit the bill, now you may proceed to filling out my online adoption application:
