About Billie Melbourne
The first thing you notice about Billy is his coat – it couldn’t be softer or more plush. But it’s his energetic personality that quickly wins you over. He really is the sweetest and goofiest dog who has adapted seamlessly to life as a couch potato. He’s curious about his new world and is quick to learn new concepts. He’s slowly getting the hang of stairs (though he's far better at descending!) and even waits at the door to have his paws cleaned if he has trampled in mud.
What Billy really loves is a good play - whether it be tug-of-war, fetch, roll-overs or simply accumulating toys. He’s a natural entertainer, a barrel of laughs and the sweetest boy imaginable. Billy is not cat friendly.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
