About Boris
Hi there, my name is Boris. I'm a loyal and loving boy who loves 'family time'. Don't let my colouring trick you, I'm not a large boy and would love nothing better than to sit on your lap all day if you would let me! My foster family has a young girl and I absolutely adore her - I will follow her around all day! I currently live with another dog and get along well with him. I'm protective of my family and can be a little timid when meeting new people or dogs. That said, I am still a baby and once I get to know and trust you, I will be the most loyal companion.
I have a lot of energy so will need an owner willing to invest the time with training and exercise to keep my mind and body busy (which means out of mischief!). New places and people can sometimes be a little scary and I may hide behind your legs, but all I need is someone patient to continue to build my confidence and socialise me with new experiences.
I'm a smart boy and know how to sit, lie down and I am almost toilet trained. I am still teething so need toys and tasty chews to keep me occupied during the day. My favourite activities include tug-of-war and going to the beach where I will sometimes patter into the water to follow you.
I love being around girls, as all whom I have encountered are so caring and affectionate to me. If I could have a little girl to call me own or a lady owner I would be in heaven! However, any family that can heap attention and love me, would make me the happiest little puppy in the world.
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I'd like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I'll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me "no" if I'm chewing something I shouldn't and give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
