About JR
Hi! I'm JR and I was surrendered to OTC by my breeder, along with my siblings so that we could get all our vet work done and be rehomed safely.
I sleep outside in a fluffy bed or dog kennel. When I first came into care I was very uncomfortable coming inside but I'm slowly getting used to it and we hope one day Ill want to sleep inside at night. I am a very affectionate boy but just unsure of new places. So if you can just be patient and loving, you'll see my confident happy side in no time!
I have never had toys before, so am only now learning how fun balls and tug ropes are. You'll love trying different toys with me and watching me discover and engage!
I came into care knowing nothing, but have quickly learned commands. I don't rush through doors and I am a gentle and obedient boy with sit, etc. Because I am food oriented, I am easy to train.
I am a gentle, slow eater that takes treats gently. I live with a staffy and a shihtzu. I love other dogs but am not fond of cats!
I love water and playing under the hose, and am not scared of loud noises,ie vaccum cleaner or mower. I don't show any signs of destructive behaviour and am a quiet boy.
I may not be full of confidence on day one, but if you can show me love and patience I will be all yours in just a few days! My ideal home has another dog, and a secure yard. Please do not try to make me live with cats, or loud or rough children.
I am 8.5kg
Medical notes
Healthy and happy! I've had two c5 vaccinations, desex, a microchip implanted and am up to date with flea and worming.
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details. You will also be provided with 7 days worth of food, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
