Poppy ~ Poodle X Schnauzer (on trial 6/6/19)

This is Poppy, she is a 1 year old Poodle X Schnauzer weighing about 6kgs. Poppy is full of energy and likes nothing more than a good rough and tumble with her furry friends. She is an extremely gentle and loving dog but can get a bit rough at times, meaning well, during play. I call her a tomboy.

Poppy travels well in the car and walks well on her leash. She is toilet trained and has basic obedience skills.
Poppy has had surgery fixing her back leg patellas. She has been with me rehabilitating for a couple of months. Everything is better than new now. Work was done by one of the best orthopedic surgeons. While in confinement to allow her knees to heal Poppy was such a good patient. Taking her medication with ease just like the gentle girl she is.
Poppy was surrendered because their other older dog didn’t like her. Poppy has gotten on well with my own dogs and all the little fosters that have come into care.
Poppy isn’t a barker but when she does it can be ear piercing. She sleeps inside near my bedroom on her bed. Poppy has a non shedding coat. She will need to be groomed every 2-3 months and brushed regularly. When her coat grows it becomes quite curly.
Poppy is good with children, she has had one encounter with a cat and the cat hated her, hence a chase around the back yard. Poor Poppy would have come out of it worse than the cat.
Poppy is in good general health with a healthy appetite.

The only negative with Poppy is she can be food protective especially with bones. She is fed separately from my other dogs.

If you want a dog who is like the energizer bunny full of love and loyalty, Poppy is your girl.
Poppy would suit a family with another dog of similar size with maybe not as much energy as her. She would need to be exercised regularly for her to burn off some of that excess energy.
Be assured if you adopt Poppy you will get a loving,loyal,energetic companion who will love you to the moon and back. She is just a lovable larrikin.

Poppy's adoption fee is $600 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
