About Spot
Darling Spot is a charming boy, and naturally loving and well behaved. He has been in a group of a dozen dogs of all ages and was accepted well into the gang. He is especially sweet playing with the puppies, but also loves a chasey game, or playing tug toys with the youngsters. They can really kick up some dust when they get going those youngsters. He is used to being around people of all ages coming and going and is very respectful and polite to humans. Spot would love off lead dog populated places like the beach and dog parks as he is such a sociable boy. He is really trustworthy off lead and keeps an eye on his human and doesn't want to stray. Spot is fully grown and in perfect condition, as he is now, he weighs in at 17 kg.
Spot came to us from an indigenous family with his 9 litter mates when he was a tiny puppy. Mum Pepper was hit by a car and injured when they were only a couple of weeks old. Pepper was not able to feed and care for them, so their indigenous family asked us to raise the pups up for them. They had been without mum for a couple of days when they came into care. Some of the pups were frailer and needed more care, but Spot thrived from an early age and was one of the group that returned to their family. Mum had surgery and recovered well too and went back home too. We have posted a picture of his mum and dad, who are both stunning dogs. Spot came back to us because he had an accident and have to have surgery on his leg - his family were happy for us to pay for the vet care he needed and then rehome him.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Spot's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Spot is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
