About Amity
This little girl is a bundle of joy. Amity is a very sweet and affectionate dog who is social with everyone that she meets but particularly loves her own humans. She will follow you everywhere and anywhere you go like the loyal little companion she is. Amity loves getting attention and can even be a bit demanding for it, barking at you to ensure you know she’s there waiting, so she definitely needs that doting person to give her plenty of loving. She’s always up for a pat or snuggle on the lounge but she also loves to play fetch with her ball in the yard.
Amity is friendly with other dogs and has spent time in care with and without other dogs. She is fine in both situations but we do feel that she would thrive as an only dog where she can be the centre of attention. Amity enjoys wondering around the dog park and is great off lead as she never strays too far from her foster carer. She’s social with the other dogs she meets and greets and loves smelling all the good smells.
Amity is overweight and has some breathing restrictions due to her breed so it is important that her new owner is aware of her limitations. She should not be walked in hot weather, should not be over exerted and must continue on a strict diet to keep losing weight.
During her time in care, Amity has been polishing up her doggy manners and even attended some obedience classes to show off her skills. She is food motivated and easy to train. She does sit, drop (lie down), stay and walks well on a lead. Amity is toilet trained, well-mannered in the house and travels well in the car so is an easy dog to include in your daily activities.
We are looking for a breed experienced home where Amity will be considered a part of the family, be mostly an indoor dog or have access inside, and is allowed to sleep inside. She is not a nuisance barker and quiet when you are out but will bark for attention when you are there so units are less preferable options. Preference may be given to a home where she is an only dog so that she can get all of the attention that she craves but very experienced homes already with a suitable canine companion will be considered. Amity is friendly with all people and is fine with other pets, including cats, as long as appropriate supervision and introductions are done.
If you would like to apply to make Amity a part of your family then please go to the Fetching Dogs website and complete a dog adoption enquiry form as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
