About Puddley
Once in a while we meet a dog that’s a little bit different. As soon as we laid eyes on Puddley, we knew he was one of those dogs. Our rangers had received a call out about a vicious-looking dog who was growling at passers-by in a nearby suburb. This was little Puddley. When we met him, we realized he wasn’t growling, but grinning. Puddley smiles at you when he first meets you. It’s just one of his many quirks.
We think Puddley hasn’t been exposed to very much in the world. He may have spent a lot of time in a backyard, or a lot of time on a chain. He can be a little bit nervous of places he hasn’t been before. But Puddley is a very affectionate boy.
He does have some strange habits. He likes to pull on clothing and chew it. He also isn’t, well, the “sharpest tool in the shed”. It takes him a long time to figure out new things. While he may never be an A-grade student, he still has plenty of love and companionship to offer.
Initially we thought Puddley may have some neurological issues, but we got that checked out by a vet. He is fine, just a nervous boy.
Puddley likes being held – it really calms him down. He wears a thunder coat at night and this seems to soothe him.
Puddley’s ideal home would be one where he can just be himself, without anyone placing any big expectations on him. He would love to have someone around to care for him and spoil him. He does pull on lead, so would be more than happy to just play with you in the yard.
We think he could go to a home with another friendly larger dog, as he is a good natured boy and not aggressive toward other dogs. He is a special boy and we want him to find a home where he will be cherished.
Puddley is not suitable for a home with small fluffy dogs, cats or pocket pets.
