About Jack McNamara
Jack is a very lovable, affectionate boy who is a very quick learner. He came to his current home with no training whatsoever. In just a few weeks he has learned to sit, stay, lie down, on your bed, sit for his meals and for the lead to be put on and off, and shake hands. He was house trained in 3 days.
Jack is a highly intelligent dog who wants to please and thrives on praise and affection and needs a job. Jack is also very high energy and will play all day. He needs either a very active playmate or a couple of runs a day.
He loves a cuddle on the couch and if he were smaller would be a lap dog. If you are looking for an easily trained, loyal and loving dog, Jack is your man. He is still a work in progress and will require ongoing training and lead training due to his age and background.
He doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body and gets on with all dogs big or small and is a huge hit at the Doggy Day Centre he attends. He is curious about cats but only wants to play. However if they run, he will chase. If they hold their ground he walks away.
Jack can be wary of some men and needs a proper introduction. Once confident with them he is just as affectionate.
Jack is a very reluctant surrender as he is a beautiful boy, but sadly does not cope with rural fencing and will find a way to jump it at 4ft or 4ft 6” so does need higher fencing.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
