About Bam Bam
Hello, Bam Bam here. I came into care after I was dumped in the pound. Since coming into care I have been nothing but a delight!! I am a happy, obedient and loving boy. I love car rides, and get along great with other dogs. I am a happy go lucky guy who rarely barks or worries. I am food orientated and easy to train. I have medium energy and love to go on walks a few times a week. I LOVE TO PLAY FETCH. Fetch is the best thing to ever happen to dogs! I like to be bathed and enjoy soft toys also and am very affectionate. I am used to carers who work full time hours on a varied roster, and I am great with human children!! I live with a few, and I also live with cats. I do chase the cats, and OTC would not recommend I be rehomed with any. I haven't ever hurt one, but it is not worth the risk. Despite my breed mix, I am not that big- I am fully grown, and only 27.5kg! My mum Nala is also with OTC (we were both abandoned as adults in the pound, having been together my whole life), and she is definitely a dane x ridge- and my wolfhound fur had to come from my dad- but I am not nearly as big as either of those breed mixes!
My last owner apparently left the gate open a lot so I am probably used to roaming when nobody is home. I am improving with time however I can jump fences. BUT the good news? My carer often just puts me in her garage while she does a shift at work. That way I am safely contained but still with room to move and play. Because I am only medium energy, I don't mind this one bit and actually like the peace of mind knowing I am contained actually! I don't ever chew things, and am perfectly toilet trained- my carers always come home to a happy, content boy with a clean garage. It's no different to when I'm inside at night, so as long as the area is ventilated and able to be kept cool enough in summer, I'll happily chill out in there during the day with a few toys or another dog for company. Or if eg your laundry or living room is an option, my carers feel very confident I would behave myself if you needed to put me inside while you are at work. Another alternative if you would like to adopt me but don't have a garage/don't want dogs inside- maybe some star pickets and mesh to extend the fence higher? A small amount of work for one heck of a good dog!!
My ideal home will walk me a few times a week, play fetch with me and give me pats, and keep me safely in an enclosed area when home alone. I would love to live with other dog/s but will also be ok on my own.
Medical notes
Healthy, happy! Fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, chipped, desexed.

Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details. You will also be provided with 7 days worth of food, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
