About Raven
Hi everyone!
I'm Raven. I was surrendered to Off The Chain after my breeder was approached by council. Some people had reported them because we weren't in very nice condition... We were very underweight and full of fleas and worms. Thankfully my owner knew she needed help, and was great to work with once offered help. My siblings and I were quickly handed to OTC care after council was consulted. My parents were both in great condition so OTC and council were comfortable leaving them with my owner. OTC paid for my mum to be desexed though, so that this didn't happen again!
Since coming into care I have quickly regained my health. Thankfully I was surrendered before any long term effects resulted. I was treated for worms and fleas and quickly gained healthy weight with regular meals.
I am learning my commands quickly; I know sit, come, no, and am working on stay. I get along great with other dogs and currently live with one other. My future home hopefully has another dog or will at least take me to the dog parks for play time. I am able to go for walks soon; now that I have had my latest Vaccination. But half the fun of a puppy is teaching us new things so my new family will be able to continue my training! I sleep inside at night and love being outside during the day. Hiding in the garden, rolling in the grass... They're some of my favourite things. I love my puppy toys and snuggling up with you to watch a movie.
Medical notes
Healthy and happy! Ive had two vaccinations, microchip, desex and am up to date with worm and flea treatments
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following:
- Real estate approval
- Fence requirements
- Outside shelter areas
- Other resident pets fully vaccinated and preferably desexed
- The rescue pet's dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed, age
- Cats are adopted under the expectation they will be kept indoors or in an enclosed area eg cat run or cat-net veranda. We provide cats with core vaccines up to date while in care, however recommend a full FIV/FELV protocol especially if the cat will go outdoors.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applicants may meet the animal. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the pet at your home, or in a public place. If you have other pets they must be at the meet. You may be required to travel to the pet; we infrequently have admins available to drive extensive distance and it also says a lot if someone is able yet unwilling to come to the animal they have applied for. If for example you cannot drive, feel free to talk with us about possibility of travel to you.
At the meet if you and the pet get along you have the option of either taking the pet on the spot (in exchange for signed contract and the full adoption fee paid upfront) or placing the pet on hold for up to 2 days with a $100 non-refundable holding deposit. This deposit is then taken off the original adoption fee should you proceed with the adoption. Should you place a hold, we will not proceed other applicants until you have removed your hold or adopted the animal.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold pets without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters, so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit is non refundable to avoid time-wasters. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details. You will also be provided with 7 days worth of food, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; if for example you are adopting a young animal it may not have had a full protocol yet due to age- so any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
