About Tom
Meet Tom!
Tom and his brother Jerry were found in a reserve in rural NSW just over 3 months ago.
When Tom came into care he was scared of people and it took about 4 days before his foster carer could go near him, and another 3 days before she could pat him.
Tom has come leaps and bounds in his 3+ months in care although he does need a dedicated new owner who will be willing to continue working with him and take him to weekly training.
Tom is the biggest snuggle bug you could meet. He loves snuggling with his human and can never get enough cuddles!
Tom is crate trained, but recently moved to a new foster carer and quite enjoys snuggling in her bed at night.
Tom knows basic comands like sit and drop. Tom is also in the middle of learning loose lead walking.
Tom loves kids the most. They are his favourite! Tom doesn't mind other dogs and new adults but it can just take him a little longer to warm up to them.
Tom is quite good with cats, but is just learning that not all cats enjoy to be chased!
Tom needs a forever home with another dog or someone who is home alot as he does experience seperation anxiety when left completly alone.
Due to his rough start in life he does show some food guarding behaviours and needs to be kept separately when given his food!
Tom is still cautious of new males, and may get nervous in new environments and will need someone who can continue to take him to regular training.
