About Willy DL2170
This gentle, ginger giant is looking for a forever home of his own! Willy is a wonderful dog and a super smart boy. He already knows commands like sit, stay, down (this one needs a little practice!), shake, beg, heel, back, out, and waits for the ok to eat.
Willy's recall is awesome, but he does love to say hello to everyone and everything! He needs work on the lead, but he knows what he has to do, he's just very strong.
Willy is very friendly and placid; he adores people and wants to be friends with every dog he meets. He can get a bit excited when galloping up to someone, but he never jumps. All he wants is a pat and to say hi. He loves to swim at the beach and will bound in the water at every chance he gets (we're pretty sure he was a fish in a past life)!
He is super gentle at taking treats, has impeccable manners with the dogs in his foster home, and totally respects their boundaries at all times. He has also lived with children and is very gentle with them. He hasn't met cats.
Willy is completely house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out. He sleeps through the night on his own bed, no problems. He is also great in the car, jumps in no problem and will sit quietly on the seat. He's not destructive in the yard, as long as he's had his morning work, he will be okay. He's a low-med energy dog and it doesn't take much to wear him out.
Willy is supposed to be a Labradoodle, but his coat sheds a lot and he's really tall... Perhaps he was swapped at birth! This does mean that he isn't suitable for anyone needing a hypoallergenic dog.
He's a little out of shape at the moment at 45.5kg, he should lose around 5-7kg, and could use some work on his fitness levels. He'll do best in a home with a part-time worker or someone who is home more often.
If you can give Willy the Wonderdog a home, please email DFL today to apply.
Medical notes
