About Hunter
Little Hunter has a horrible story, and we need to tell it so the special person that sees through his issues, and understands where they have come from.
Hunter was surrendered to us by a homeless woman (32) who has Schizophrenia, alcoholism and and drug user, who was heading to prison a few days after surrendering him.
This little fella has trust issues.
He is in a loving family home, and everyday he has improved, but occasionally he snaps at people when he feels threatened.
His carers have been at the end of a couple of snaps, but have worked out his triggers.
He does sleep on the end of their bed and comes up for affection, when he is ready.
We need a special home for this boy, that has the time and patience to teach him that not everyone is out to get him.
It’s more fear aggression.
He eats well, and loves other dogs, and cats.
Loves his walks and walks well on a lead.
He only was desexed a week ago, so we are hoping this might help his anxiety.
This little boy deserves a chance as he is only 6 and weighs 5ish kgs.
Maybe a foster/adopt scenario might be the way to go with this little fella to make sure we find him a safe a happy home.
This boy has been through enough turmoil to last him a lifetime.

Adoption details
We shortlist families who will fit the dogs needs and contact them to arrange an introduction. If everything works well, after a timeout to be sure, an adoption agreement is completed. As the adoption donation is transferred the dog will pass into your hands.
Our Adoption Donation Fees vary. Elderly animals or animals with health problems can differ from those for young or purebred dogs.
All our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and treated for fleas. They are bathed and groomed, and have had a consultation with our vet who discusses appropriate treatment which we arrange while the dog is in our care. All dogs are desexed at our expense.
We understand that in the first week, issues occasionally occur where training or behaviour modification is impractical and if no other recourse is available and the dog needs to be rehomed, we will agree to refund part of the adoption fee less $100 administration fee. Due to our system processes this will not be instantaneous but will go into your bank account within the next 10 working days.
After the sixth day, we require first refusal if the dog is to be found a different home, but you will not be eligible for a refund.
