About Elvis
🌟🐕 🌟 We are in search of an exceptionally special family🌟🐕 🌟
(Please read carefully)
Elvis ‘Pugsley', who is approximately 11 months old was recently surrendered into our NSW/ACT team’s care. Elvis is a Chug (Pug x Chihuahua) and has had a rough start to life, as so many of our rescues have had 😔
When Elvis was a young puppy, he had to be revived as he had choked on food. Unfortunately, this resulted in neurological issues with body and spinal control, where his legs move in a wobbly way (Ataxia) and he also has severe hip dysplasia.
Under the advice and guidance of our vets we are happy to say that he currently has a good quality of life and his issues are not causing him too many problems. Although it must be noted as he ages, his condition will need to be closely monitored and assessed regularly. Elvis needs regular medications to help minimise arthritic changes and to prolong his current quality of life for as long as possible.
We are looking for a family who will be able to care for Elvis. He cannot climb up or down stairs and he struggles to walk on slippery floors (eg. polished floorboards or tiles) although he is fine walking on carpet and rougher floors 🐾 And although he is toilet trained, he must be taken outside regularly to toilet.
Elvis is able to run around the backyard for short times happily sniffing around🌳 and as he tires faster than most Pugs would do, he is only able to go for very short walks (5 minutes) on the lead.
What Elvis needs in special care, he gives back 10 fold in love 💗 He is a cuddly little boy who enjoys being inside with you and seated on your lap playing with a toy - like any puppy would!
This pocket sized sweetheart is only 4kg in size and would suit a family that lives a quieter life and is home often wanting a little companion to spend their time with (eg. someone that is retired or works from home).
Please note: Elvis will NOT be suited to someone who has young children or other dogs that are super active as he can be easily knocked over and hurt by vigorous play.
If you believe you are able to provide Elvis with the loving home that he deserves, we would like to hear from you!!!
